| Recruitment
Recruitment procedures can benefit
from graphology in two ways. Firstly, applications can be
filtered to provide a shortlist based on the job specification,
focussing the search and saving the recruiter time. Secondly
a more in depth analysis can assist with the final selection.
Graphology penetrates beneath the
social veneer and can provide guidance on emotional factors eg
sensitivity, tolerance of stress, motivational forces,
attitude to conflict and other traits such as judgement and
adaptability. These factors can be at least as important as
professional qualifications in determining the applicant's long
term performance.
Graphology
is far more than just a tool to assist with the selection of employees;
it is also used for team building, to assess suitability for promotion,
or in order to help explain why someone is not fulfilling his
or her potential. Graphology is also an excellent tool for use
with personal coaching.
